Hardware requirements
The S1 system provides a software-only solution using off-the-shelf hardware components. However, to
install the S1 software certain hardware requirements must be fulfilled.

- S1 HA deployments: Connect two S1 nodes to a shared dual port disk enclosure (JBOD) or use cluster-in-a-box solution.
- At least one SATADOM (Serial ATA Disk on Module) Boot Device or RAID-protected disk with a minimum of 128 GB of space. This storage space is to be used for the S1 operating system installation.

- A minimum of 8 cores. Preferably a dual Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2620v2 or higher.

- Management: 1 Gbps.
- Data connection: 10/40/100 Gbps.
- S1 high availability (HA) deployments: an additional 10/40/100 Gbps interface is required for HA heartbeats and traffic.
